A portable version of Lev went to Electro-Music in June, 2005 to warble for the musicians, artists, and shiny classic synths that attended the conference. To set the scene, here’s a few photos from the event. (For many more, see the official Electro-Music site.)
Some of Sketching Device #1′s drawings were exhibited at Flux Factory’s Works on Paper exhibit and sale.

My class’s band Mister Resistor played a noisy and inspiring gig at the Flux Factory tonight.
The sketching machine was exhibited as part of the Robotix’s Festival at Parc d’aventures scientifiques, a Belgian science museum.

Sensitive Research was exhibited in the Art Gallery at Siggraph 2003. Here’s a few photos from the exhibition.
At first, they put it inside a glass box– missing the point of an interactive piece. So I sneaked the box off in order to let people tweak the knobs. By the end of the exhibit, both knobs were broken.
Lev performed at Artbots 2003, the robot talent show, at the Eyebeam Atelier in New York City, July 12-13, 2003. Here’s a few photos from the event.

The wind-up mermaid box was exhibited at the Mermaid Show at the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center, Brooklyn. Here’s some photos from the show.
The cranky doodling machine had its public debut at the Artbots Festival at Pratt University in Brooklyn. Hundreds of visitors came to see the artsy robots dance, sing, and doodle, and many of them left with a sketch they made in a hands-on collaboration with the Sketching Device.
