lev and thumpbot play “crazy”

September 20th, 2007

Here’s LEV, my theremin-playing robot first seen at Artbots 2003, playing a familiar song with the help of the newly built thumpbot and an obsolete synthesizer.

(also on youtube)

They don’t play so well, but what do you expect from robots?

That’d be a great set list for a very brave band, Sean. Actually, if someone can find or make multitrack MIDI files for all these songs, I’ll get Lev and Thumpbot to play them all in a row.

Come to think of it, I already have Willie Nelson & Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” coded - Lev performed it at NYU last year.

This is cool–but I would much rather hear them do the Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline version.

WOW! This is probably one of the coolest musical instruments *ever*.

I can only imagine what Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata would sound like.

Anyone that can’t recognise this tune must be either deaf or facing some other big challenges in life.
Think that sean barret guy is just looking for attention (don’t worry sean, your parents really did love you).

I think this is the absolute coolest sound i’ve ever heard. Its a pity those pop star people get their 5 minutes of fame even though they are all absolute losers and projects like this are kept in the closet. I suppose mass consumption really does degrade mankind.
